Red Nose Pinocchio Shrimp are a unique and eye-catching freshwater shrimp known for their long, pointed “nose” and slender, transparent body. A distinct yellow to red stripe runs along their length, giving them a standout look that adds movement and character to any planted aquarium. These shrimp are highly valued for their algae-eating ability and are often compared to Amano shrimp when it comes to keeping tanks clean. They are especially effective at grazing on hair algae, biofilm, and other unwanted growth, making them a great addition to any cleanup crew. Red Nose Shrimp are active swimmers and tend to move throughout the tank, adding more visible activity compared to many other shrimp species. They do best in stable aquariums with good water quality, gentle flow, and plenty of plants or hardscape to explore. While they may breed in captivity, their larvae require brackish water to survive, so they typically will not reproduce in freshwater aquariums. With proper care, these shrimp can live 1–2 years and thrive in a wide range of freshwater setups. All shrimp are covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee
