Anubias barteri
Anubias barteri is a hardy, low-maintenance aquarium plant known for its broad, dark green leaves and slow, steady growth. It’s a reliable choice for both beginners and experienced hobbyists, adding a rich, natural look to any tank.
This plant thrives in low to moderate lighting and does not require CO2, making it ideal for low-tech and budget-friendly setups. Its versatility allows it to be placed in shaded areas or attached to driftwood and rocks for a more natural aquascape.
Anubias barteri is especially popular in shrimp tanks, as its thick leaves collect biofilm for grazing and provide excellent cover for Neocaridina shrimp, fry, and small fish.
Planting tip: Do not bury the rhizome. Attach the plant to rocks or driftwood using glue or thread to prevent rot.
With its durability, ease of care, and long-lasting growth, Anubias barteri is a dependable, no-fuss plant that works in almost any aquarium setup.
Grown & Ready to Thrive
Our plants are grown fully submerged in aquarium setups with no CO2, stable temperatures of 70–76°F, and 4–8 hours of light daily. This ensures they are already adapted to real aquarium conditions, making them easier to transition and grow in your tank.
Please note: plants may contain small snails or snail eggs, which are harmless and often beneficial, helping break down waste and support a healthy aquarium ecosystem.
